2d animation template
The past few days I was designing a Album sleeve for Elsa Kamsoda, and that went really well. The printing is being done as I write this and I'm so eager and excited to see the final product :)
I'm now working on some new character designs to upload into my e-shop. The "Death Machine" above is one of the many designs I'm currently working on. The bot has a War Angel feel to it, and I think it will make a great addition to all my e-shop customers' galleries. More information is coming soon!

Hot Stuff : Episode 01
I'm really enjoying the production of Hot stuff mini skits. Above you'll find the first episode, and I'm done with the next script for it. My 3rd episode will feature something from the 2011 Rugby World Cup! However I still have to do the 2nd episode before we get into that! Cisca De Villiers even helped me co-direct a scene from episode 3 which will be spoken in her first language; Afrikaans.
Usually I upload a "Friday drawing" but I thought this would be so much more fun, hope you enjoyed the episode!

Hot Stuff: SEASON-ing 1

Thank you for barring with me, and visiting my blog. Totally2d.org is currently down but my Engineer is working on that (its tough for small websites like mine but he really does a great job) please be patient with us, and than you for all you support.
Now for some GOOD NEWS...
As an independent animator, you may realize that I have the room to make quick decisions on what to animate. What works, and what doesn't. This requires keeping your ear on the ground on whats happening in the industry. The above image is an extract from my new Work-in-Progress titled Hot Stuff: SEASON-ing 1.
Previously I mentioned a 2d animation software called Crazy Talk animator. Now that I have it, I plan to show the world how powerful it is. Watch my sample animation here, its just a test of how to animate in Hot Stuff: SEASON-ing 1. I'm SO EXCITED about this! Thank you Reallusion for all your invaluable support.
Cheers!

Yes... it's a fairy
Hello there!
I've started working in Crazy Talk Animator, creating a musical video for Elsa Kamsoda. This Fairy above is one of the character designs I'll be using. She'll be playing a violin, so I was just doing some online research on violins online.
The musical video will probably be ready after I finish the current project "Sun of God" which will be an animation of Elsa's poem. If all goes to plan another project I have on the cards is Clouds of Love by Zayed :) So much work, so little time.
Check out my animations on my website
Enjoy your day! Thank you for visiting my blog. Cheers..

Springboks (Rugby)
As I walk around I'm impressed by the number of people who are geared for the Rugby World Cup! Here in South Africa, the people around have started wearing Springbok jerseys to show their support, and I've designed the illustration above. Its an extract from a side project I was doing the past 2 or so weeks.
I really loved the knocked out tooth on this bok, but the final product doesn't have the tooth and all that blood. We concluded that it looked a lot like a blood thirsty wolf or something. Below is the original sketch I had done, and photographed. The two images look... different (I know)
In the sketch, the springbok is not all buff and rugby-ishy. I wasn't sure where the right leg should go, the sketch looks scared... worried, or something. The end result was done in my Toon Boom Studio animation package. All in all, I really enjoyed this project! Thank you for reading my blog, enjoy the rest of your day!

Crazy Talk Animator
So far I've been fighting several obstacles in the production of my animation mini series "Hooked Alive". Alas, I seem to have made some progress. Less than 15 days ago I stumbled upon Crazy Talk animator. Its a 2d animation software that you can try out for yourself, and from what I'm seeing its good features I could have only dreamt about!
I recommend any aspiring animators to Download Crazy Talk Animator trial now, and try it out. You might surprise yourself, soon my website will have some Crazy Talk Animator templates for you to try out including the one above; Martin, from my Hooked Alive cast. So now I have the script written out, and all the characters designed I just need to add the full version of Crazy Talk Animator.
Crazy Talk Animator has a function where you could just import an image (as shown above) and use that one image to start animating! You'll be impressed, I know I was. There also have several step by step Youtube videos on how their software package works watch it now!
I'm an animator, and I love it! However somedays you really struggle to push your productions, most days its hard, and during those rainy days. Can your software give you the tools that are effective, and powerful enough for you to pull through the millions of frames needed? Visit my website http://www.totally2d.org/ and see the full range of animation softwares that I trust and use! Crazy talk Animator is a product you might also want to try out, my favourite feature is the Body pupperteering where you animate by moving your mouse!
Their product has a wide a range of feature PLUS you tube videos, to make your life easier. Enjoy the accesories panel, and facial animation tools. This would be brilliant to use in my future productions!
Enjoy your day! Wish me luck, as a continue progressing in all my art, photography, and animation projects :) CHEERS!

Ninjess (Character design)
I really enjoyed designing this Ninja character, and thought it would be nice to just share it. I made her in Illustrator using the pen tool. I particulary like the eyes of this character, partially hidden with a dark eye shadow. I've been watching too much "Soul Eater". Its an amazing show, I generally never really liked Anime until recently and in my opinion soul Eater is one of my top favourites (so far).
I animate using Toon Boom Studio for those of you who didn't know already, and recently started exploring Illustrator. I hope to keep improving my shading and drawing techniques. For now this is all I had to share, feel free to watch some of my animations on my website http://www.totally2d.org/. As of now Ninjess shall just remain a random character design, my hands shall be tied as I attempt to continue tuckling my pending animation projects namely HOOKED ALIVE and a 2 minute poem by an amazing artist called Elsa. I'm really enjoying changing gears between photography, design and animation! I have so much to learn in all those fields, and won't stop until I become the best I can be in all those fields.
Here are some of the Blogs by some of my friends, check them out:

Random Sketching [part 2]
I enjoy working in ink, all these designs were done in ink and because of that there is no room for mistakes. Thats why all the characters tend to have their construction lines on them. It gives them a certain... feel.

Most of the characters I sketched in this pad are human, which is strange since i usually used to do creatures and fantasy beings. In the scan below you can see a octa-muntant creature. Thats more of the art I miss doing, I'll be going down that road soon.

That it for now, I'll upload more works from this collection sometime this week. Enjoy your day, and thanks for coming back to my blog. You can also check out my website www.totally2d.org (I haven't updated it in a while but I'm working on it). Cheers!

Tafadzwa's HALL OF FAME [Entry 001]
Hey! Sometime last year a friend and I went to an art gallery in Harare (Delta). On their lawn outside they have a life size wire sculptor of a bushman camouflaged as an ostrich. I tried my best to illustrate their ingenious hunting technique below when I got home.
I admire how creative and original mankind was back in the day. If I had a hall of fame some of this tribal wisdom would be brought to light. Thanks to great thinkers we now have televisions, & telephones (not cellphones- those cellphone thinkers just upgraded what some did from scratch). I'm an animator I have nothing NOTHING against technology but today's mankind should take a page from our ancestors' relentlessness in discovering and inventing day by day by day after day. None stop! Long live the bush men as the first entry in my personal Hall of fame.
Switch off your computer, go out and invent something today. Discover a solution to any of mankind's problems (without the aid of GOOGLE). When you switch on your machine again feel free to check out my website www.totally2d.org.

Hooked alive!
Greetings to you all , for the past 2 weeks or so I've been working tirelessly to assemble a team of voice actors for my next Animation project titled Hooked alive! Cisca will be one of the voice actors in the project. I shall look forward to sharing some of the design and animation ideas I have. The main gang in the project is as follows, from the left Petunia, Bait (the parrot), Martin, and LULU. To all who have read the script Lulu is by far the craziest character in the show, and I found the PERFECT
voice actor to play her part, watch out for that one.
LULU has what it takes to over throw Ambivalence from SALAD CHICK (click to watch).
Above is two of the preliminary character designs that shall be in the project. In my opinion the design process and script writing is going on well, and I expect to start voice recording today.
Thanks to Angelique (who plays as Wife - above) Hooked alive is going to be partly done in Afrikaans, which is a first for me in my work as I've only ever worked in English and or Shona. Angie will also be the Narrator to all the madness that will be happening in Hooked alive. I hope the world is ready for my most promising project to date. I know I am.
Image: Tafadzwa ( designer/animator) and Cisca (designer/ voice actor- Pertunia)
Keep you eyes open for more updates on Hooked Alive by visit this blog or www.totally2d.org. more pictures and character designers will be coming.
